India’s antitrust body launched an investigation against Amazon and Flipkart in 2020 for allegedly promoting selected sellers on their e-commerce platforms and using commercial practices that stifle competition.
The Supreme Court Monday refused to undermine an investigation into the Competition Commission of the Competition Commission (ITC) on Amazon and Flipkart e-commerce giants for alleged competition law violations. The Grand Court rejected the demands of companies that require a stopover of the probe and stated that the probe must continue. E-commerce companies now have four weeks of time to join the investigation, in accordance with the decision of the Court.

The probe was launched following a complaint following by the Delhi Vyapar Mahasangh (DVM), which represents owners of small and medium-sized enterprises in Delhi.
Companies deny any wrongdoing and have tried several times to set up legal challenges against the investigation.
Earlier on July 23, the High Court High Karnataka (HC) has canceled separate petitions from Amazon India and Flipkart against the Antitrust Survey. Next that companies have approached the upper court.
A three-member bench heard the case during which she called for companies participating as he refused to stop the probe.
