War in Russia, floods in Pakistan can’t keep Putin, Sharif away from delicacies at SCO meet | Video

Although the Russian-Ukraine war entered seven months and Pakistan faced one of its worst floods, the leaders of the two countries were seen enjoying delicious food in SCO Summit 2022. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Russian President Vladimir Putin could not stay away from the delicious food at the SCO Summit which began on Thursday. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erpoan was also seen with them.

SCO held the first direct summit at Samarkand in Uzbekistan after two years. The Summit was held for a span of two days from 15 to 16 September.

It should be noted that Ukraine forces have made significant profits in the area captured by Russian military forces. A counterattack by Ukraine forces last week had led to the back of hundreds of villages in the region and Putin was under pressure from the Russian nationalists to regain this initiative. Russian troops also resigned in most areas after losing control over the region.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has been struggling with the worst floods in the last 30 years, killing more than 1,400 people and 33 million people have been affected since early June. One third of the country was submerged in water and one in every seven people was influenced by floods that had caused a loss of USD 12 billion.

In another incident on Thursday, Shahbaz Sharif faced an awkward moment when he tried to put his earphones while attending a meeting with Putin.

Sharif asked for help after he had difficulty inserting earphones and asked, “Can someone help me?” Even when Putin smiled watching.

Russia can supply gas to Pakistan because the required infrastructure already exists, Putin said on Thursday during his meeting with Shehbaz Sharif during the SCO Summit in Uzbekistan.
