Ukraine sanctions on Russia virtually ground Pak’s JF-17 fighter programme

The day after the Indian Air Force (IAF) succeeded in targeting the Jaish-E-Mohammed (JEM) Terror Training Camp in Balakot on February 26, 2019, to reply to Pulwama Terror strikes, Pakistan launched the counter with our US F-16 fighters 6 and JF-17 warriors China in the southern PIR Panjal in Jammu and Kashmir.

There is a documentary evidence that the Pakistani Air Force only relies on F-16 to target an unspecified target in the Nowshera-Rajour-Poonch sector throughout the LOC with JF-17 fighters who are not involved in the action at all.

Pakistan’s strike was intercepted by Indian fighters with the Wing Commander Abhin and Vanthaman fired F-16 which was far superior before crashing into a mig-21 vintage bison in Kashmir (Pok) occupied by Pakistan. While the US F-16 fired air-to-air missiles into Indian fighters, Sino-Pak which was widely developed developed JF-17 only for performances and did not see air battles and remained hidden behind the American fighters. Today’s JF-17 program is in Doldrums because of the lack of spare parts for Klimov RD 93 aircraft engines made in Russia.

Encouraged by several failures of the JF-17 aircraft, mainly because of the ease of service of the RD-93 engine, Pakistan directly approached Russia to get the RD-93 engine, passing through China. After several negotiations by Islamabad with Moscow, the Russian Kilmov engine company has now indicated its willingness to supply RD-93 engines and related repair systems and maintenance facilities to the JF-17 aircraft.

However, in 2018, M/S Rosoboronexport, which is authorized to export defense equipment including machines and RD-93 parts, approved by the US, so that it negatively affects the source of RD-93 engine parts by PAF. Sanctions limit Rosoboronexport from conducting US dollar transactions, which have now been trying by the two governments and the bank concerned.

Russia has strengthened his defense with Pakistan by allowing him to buy a RD-93 machine directly from him as an opponent using China as an intermediary as before. However, international relations in a state of flux and strategic equations change quickly with Russia under pressure from the West and seek support from others. It is clear that Russia moves close to China in the developing Geo political matrix sought for exploitation by Pakistan.

JF-17 fighter jets, which were developed together by Pakistan and China, who should be a multi-rol fighter low-cost, lightweight, all weather, multi-role with the body of the Chinese aircraft, has now become the responsibility of Islamabad because it fails to fail to follow Hype is the best fighter in the world. The experience of Islamabad with the JF-17 aircraft, especially RD-93 engine made in Russia, tells a completely different story besides causing serious doubts on the quality of this aircraft.

The Pakistan Military Leadership Had Expected a Fighter Aircraft, Something Akin to the Russian Su-30 MKI or the French Mirage 2000 But the JF-17 Aircraft Fell Well Short of Their High hopes as the Aircraft Performed Poorly Against the Indian Air Force’s Mirage 2000 and Su-30.

Incidentally, due to induction into the Pakistani Air Force (PAF) in 2009, JF-17 recorded a series of accidents, giving rise to serious doubts on the fitness of the aircraft as PAF found a lot of disappointment, that the JF-17 aircraft was the JF-17 aircraft as PAF found the number, that The JF-17 JF-17 aircraft aircraft JF-17 was not near the arrogant claims made by China because of the problems faced in the performance of the RD-93 engine made by Russia, installed on the aircraft.

Combining problems, PAF has faced challenges in the ease of aircraft service due to lack of spare parts and engines. A large number of RD 93 Russian engines, installed on JF-17 aircraft have experienced cracks in guide propeller, exhaust nozel and fire stabilizers, and PAF has struggled hard to replace this machine because of the contract obligation that forces Pakistan to buy RD-93
