Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 shows up on Geekbench for the first time

Twitter Lefer Abhishek Yadav has found what can be the first show of Snapdragon 898 in Geekbench. Quite interesting, it seems to walk next to the Vivo smartphone that has not been announced from all devices. We usually see the high-end Qualcomm hardware debut with Xiaomi smartphone. Some reports have prophesied that the next Mi 12 series will be the first to run Snapdragon 898. This list also tells us that the upcoming Qualcomm Soc Flagship will be named ‘taro’ password.

However, this special geekbench example did not tell us a lot about the chipset performance, because the single score and multi-core 720 and 1,919 were significantly lower than its predecessor. The leak from the start told us that Snapdragon 898 would reach 20% faster than Snapdragon 888, which was not reflected in the results above. Abysmal performance can be caused by technical samples and smartphones that run unstable firmware. Or, the test can be run with battery saving modes that are activated, which usually whips the CPU weight. Bad thermal can play here too. Someone can also blame the Samsung 4nm knot, which seems to be used by the chipset.

We also know the core configuration of Snapdragon 898. It seems that the core of the ‘prime’ x2 cortex will be recorded at 2.42GHz. Although not explicitly named, the core Cortex-A710 and Core Cortex-A510 core each at 2.17GHz and 1.79GHz. These figures further prove that the Snapdragon 898 sample in question does not run on the maximum potential. We found earlier that the core of the x2 cortex, in particular, could reach 3.09GHz. To put things in perspective, Cores Snapdragon 888, Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 were taken at 2.7GHz, 2.4GHz and 1.7GHz. Finally, the list also confirmed that the new Qualcomm SOC will run the Adreno 730 GPU.
